June 10, 2009 -- The launch date of the Power Integrating Module with Pulsed Driver just got closer as this product has entered its production phase. According to its designer the product is almost ready for buyers and sellers to get their hands on it. "We want to do a little more testing on the product using certification services to validate what our simulation and measurements have been telling us. We want to be sure that the safety of the product is certified for consumers. We are not so worried about industrial users, but since this product is bound for consumer markets, in one form or another, we want consumer testing to verify it."
Its main function is to gate power from multiple sources to a driver circuit that can be used to drive anything from high power lasers to LEDs and other driver dependent circuits like those of an electromechanical nature. Some applications that have already been developed for the product are laser driver, LED driver, battery charging, and fiber optic communications.
The POWIM-PD has many applications and will be sold to a variety of markets. Buyers will probably be able to buy the product directly from Photonic Power Systems International.
